I am more than likely going to have a mastectomy on my right breast due to three tumors (two in breast at 8 and 9 o’clock positions) and one in axillary lymph node. How many of you, if any, opted to go ahead and do both breasts to help eliminate worry. I’m on the fence about this and would appreciate any insight if you chose one over the other. Thanks ❤️🙏🌈

Good advice. Sometimes I feel as though I’m navigating my way through this alone. Thanks.

Hi Holly, you had asked if the fact that I had a unilateral mastectomy is what allows me to have the follow up testing (MRIs, Mammograms etc). I'm not 100% though it may be as it's high risk screening for the remaining breast. I'd ask your breast surgeon what the follow up would be if you had a unilateral vs. bilateral. Best of luck!

I’m so sorry about all your stress. That’s kind of why I wanted to do both - so I wouldn’t worry as much. I wish you peace during this path. ❤️

Yes. I hAd double to eliminate the stress but no checking makes me feel worse. Afraid to do anything, anyone have a good idea of things that can help. I do tipping, tapping, deep breathing meditation, praying cbt dbt etc but I still feel like crap. I have stomach anxiety to day but was fine last night #2 but on wake up get anxious # 7.5
Tell me your solutions please, God bless and thank you.

Would you still having a breast allow the annual testing? It seems like us who choose to have both breasts removed may not have all the testing, and for those who responded, it causes anxiety not having the tests. It will cause me anxiety too if not having breasts eliminates the testing. Uuuggggghhh
