Many members of MyBCTeam have shared their experiences with both saline and silicone implants. Here are some insights:

- Silicone Gel Implants: These tend to mimic natural breast tissue better because they look and feel softer. However, there is a small chance of a gel fracture, which can be difficult to detect.
- Saline Implants: These are filled with salt water after being placed in the body and often feel firmer than silicone gel implants. If they burst, the breast will deflate, and the salt water will be absorbed by the body without causing health issues.

Some members have expressed satisfaction with their choice, noting improvements in self-esteem and confidence. For example, one member mentioned feeling a different confidence after reconstruction, while another was happy with the results despite needing small inserts in their bra.

I’m 5 weeks out from delayed reconstruction. I opted to wait a year to do reconstruction. I’m chose to have two stage reconstruction. So the first step is the tissue expanders. I had mines placed over the muscly. So far everything has been good. I have had 3 expansions so far. But I will be going with the Mentor cohesive gel implants.
