I started on anastrozole in February and 2 days in my feet started to swell and my legs also hurt. I dealt with that until mayor depression hit me to the point I was suicidal. Never been that way in my life. Stopped that and went on Tamoxifen. Thank god no depression but 2 months in to that leg cramps every night and generally feeling like poo. I took it upon myself to cut pill in half so now on 10 mg and holding my own fairly well. Of course I researched this for hours before I did it. Something is better than nothing. I did contact my oncologist and was told to just stop medication all together until I see him again. I wasn’t comfortable with not taking anything. I honestly think these doctors really don’t know so they treat us all the same. I do go back July the 6th so planning on having a real heart to heart chat. I am the captain of my body and I still have to work and support myself. Good luck and sending hugs.
I tried Letrozole first and 8 weeks in, I couldn't take the pains it was causing in my feet To my hips. Then I was placed on exemestane and after 2 weeks, the pain got worse. I am currently on nothing (which scares me) and I have swelling in my legs but the pain is now bare able.
I have been taking anastrozole for a year and have had no bad effects .
Nothing yet, but I've only been on them for a week.
I've been taking anastrozole since October 2022. All I'm having are occasional very mild, very tolerable hot flashes.
