Why Still Have Pain And Sensitivity In Surgical Breast 3 Years Post Chemo? Testing All Negative. π€·ββοΈ
Just walk in and say
Perhaps you have some sensory nerve injury , I go through these bouts of pain at times that can be horrible but then there is times I have no sensation.. very odd. I hope that you have relief at times of your pain⦠lots of love my pink sister
Also talk with the surgeon and your PCP, especially if the range of motion for your shoulder is affected. Either one could probably refer you for a physical therapy assessment and possible treatment (which would most likely include exercises meant to stretch that scar tissue so it is not as tight or painful).
Well now, wouldn't one think that someone who already deals with Trigeminal Neuralgia- which is cranial nerve damage from a prescription drug - would have thought of sensory nerve damage? Good grief! I know chemo brain is real but that thought never occurred to me. Thank you for reminding me, Aprilt123. The pain, tenderness, and odd chafing sensations make sense to me now. I had thought of mastitis or that other thing that is never far away - reoccurrence, but this makes so much more sense. I am having long term reaction to radiation now with spidery discoloration appearing in surgical area, and this could be part and parcel of that maybe. The pain moves from one place to another and then the nipple becomes very sensitive and then the chafing sensation where the Sentinel node was removed begins, but not always in that order and definitely for a few days and then it is gone again. Weirdly, exercising relieves it some of the time. Does anyone else take B-6 for the cyclical fluid retention? It was prescribed for me years ago at a PMS Clinic and it does help at least a bit. My onco best be prepared for a lot of questions next month, cause I need definitive answers now. Tx everyone for the help... and here is my wish that we all find relief from the after pain. Sending healing good thoughts to you all...
I actually had PT and Massage Therapy all through treatments. Still have Massage therapy and do stretching exercises before and after daily workout. These exercises were taught me by PT. I do really appreciate the idea, but am thinking the scar tissue from surgery pinching nerves is closer to the mark... will be interesting what onco says next month.
