I received a bill this week from Agendia and it was $4200. I had the test done in April of 2020 and this is the first bill I’ve gotten. Apparently insurance did not cover it despite multiple appeals (that I was never notified about). I read old posts on here that some have gotten the amount owed decreased. Anyone have experience with Agendia and their test, Mammaprint?
Be sure to tell me you are a self-pay patient. This can usually cut the cost 50-70% or more

Wow, that is terrible! Where I work, we do not submit until we get a prior authorization from the insurance company.
Thanks Teresa. I asked why a prior auth wasn’t done and I got crickets. Mammaprint is like Oncotype DX. It is a test done to assess your risk for recurrence.
I have not heard of this Mamma Print. But from what I know all orders must go through the doctor to the insurance first. Then the insurance decides if you need it. Then it will or will not get approval. I always call insurance prior to any procedure to make sure it is in network and covered.
