I Am Into The Second Week Of Radiation. Can Anyone Tell Me When Or If They Had Issues With Their Skin From It?
So far, my skin is just very tender, but no other problems. I have heard that it can take a few weeks for it to become an issue. I am extremely tired from it though.
I just finished 30 radiation treatments and I would use the calendula but had to stop twice because I had complications. My skin looks amazing one week later though so Iām happy.
I used Calendula, Emu oil and Aloe Vera. My skin was slightly pink and nothing else. I did not have any fatigue
I was prescribed Mometasone and apply it twice daily. Perhaps your doctor could help.
Ah so it isnt just getting up early! Well now i dont feel so lazy. Im on #18/33. Just starting to get a little pink but i have one tender place in the crook of my underarm. I hope it dont make a sore! I use Miaderm 3xa day as per my onco radiologist. He said i look good. Id better- that stuff isnt cheap!!!š
@A MyBCTeam Member:I got pretty red and burnt as time went on - I think it really kicked in around the 3rd week or so and lasted until 2 weeks or so after I finished. Go topless as much as you can - the more you air it out, the better. Also soak a clean cloth in saline (you can get big bottles in the first aid aisle of any pharmacy) and lay it on your chest for 15 min or so. Take it off, air dry, then put the cream on (I liked calendula the best - even better than the prescription stuff). You can do the saline wraps as often as you need - nice and cool and soothing! Hang in there, lovely one š
