I was diagnosed with Lobular Carcinoma and Invasive lobular carcinoma in my left breast. These were found only by the MRI in October of 2023. I chose a bilateral mastectomy. There were no masses and a very small tumor. I was grade 1. I am receiving no radiation or chemotherapy. I’m on Anastrozole. Minimal side effects, mainly fatigue.

When I found out in February I was going to have a lumpectomy & then radiation. But after having more tests & MRI that showed 2 tumors on my right breast I decided to have a single mastectomy. ILC is a very sneaky type of cancer & I didn't want to worry about it coming back or spreading. For me it was the best decision. I didn't need radiation or chemo & will be under the dr. care for 5 years. I am taking Letrozole & feeling ok.

Hi Elayne - my results are very similar to yours. I was diagnosed 1 year ago yesterday 10/22/21. The mammogram and ultrasound showed 1 tumor and the MRI showed 3 on my left breast. I opted for a unilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. Had surgery 12/10/21. I did not need chemo or radiation as my oncotype score was 22. I am taking Anastrozole with minimal side effects, I could do without the weight gain though. According to my oncologist I’ll need to take the med 5-10 years. I feel very blessed and have a great team of doctors, pink warrior co-workers and family support as well. Hoping all goes well with your journey. Hugs.

My oncotype was 14, and I still had a Radiation therapy(16). I am on Tamoxifen.
