I felt the same regarding the DIEP , my plastic surgeon was very informative about the risk of the implants failing, and what I needed to do to ensure the best results. Best of luck to you

I think 6 months after radiation. I have appointments with my oncologist and new radiologist today. (New because my original is on maternity leave).

How long after radiation is your reconstruction surgery? Can they do the reconstruction/implants prior to radiation? I had delayed reconstruction with implants to allow the skin to heal because of prior radiation to the right breast. I also had physical therapy ( scar massage ) to promote healing. I am 6 months out from the placement of the implants and I am very happy with the results. I was also very concerned about the risk so I followed PS instructions to the letter.
