Radiation is unlike tanning or even sunburn. Though it causes redness, radiation is really metabolically breaking down the skin and underlying tissue of your breast. Once the area is damaged, it will heal but will be more sensitive to the sun. Also, the radiated tissue lacks some elasticity and other features making reconstruction more difficult and leading to changes in how the breast looks and feels.

Oh me too! Yet was told to stay out of the sun due to burning the chest!

I tanned indoors I covered my radiated area with a towel same with laying in the sun I lay a towel over it. I burned a bit with radiation and I didn’t want to burn it more. It eventually turned dark brown like a dark tan. I had that for a little over a yr. and it started fading till it looked normal colour. I still cover it right across my chest. Good luck. I know the sun isn’t good for causing skin cancer. It does give you Vitamin c. 😎😎😎

Radiated skin is much more sensitive to the sun so you should be careful. Cover the radiated area and you should be ok. 💕
