@A MyBCTeam Member: I wouldn't stress. I'm on Tamoxifen, and though I don't drink coffee, I have a tea every day. No issues.
If you do enough digging online you'll find stuff about pretty much every food/product on the planet having a link to cancer, or affecting cancer in some way. The fact is that there are no clear yes or no answers, and no clear absolute reasoning to explain with certainty why some get cancer and some dont.
My cancer is highly estrogen positive so you'll see info about the estrogen in various foods (I.e dairy). The truth though is that although there is estrogen in some foods we consume, the amount is miniscule in comparison to the amount of estrogen your body naturally produces anyway. And dairy is one of the easiest ways for the body to absorb calcium, which is important for us who are blocking our estrogen in order to protect our bones.
The bottom line is this - stress will kill you faster than any one food could. As long as you regularly eat healthy and balanced with a little of everything in moderation - that's all you can really do. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. If that means a Grande coffee - go for it girl 💖

I drink half-caffeine in the morning and decaf later. My hot flashes are manageable and now that I’m on Effexor, even better! I don’t know that giving up caffeine would be good for me or anyone I live or work with. 😂. As for food, my nutritionist at Dana Farber suggests eating a Mediterranean-style diet - veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean mean, fish, beans. Nothing we all don’t already know. I look for foods free of soy. Certainly not perfect but I’m cautious. Nothing processed and I gave up alcohol which for me was wine or beer with dinner. Maybe I didn’t have to but I’m fine without it. I’d rather have coffee. 😊 And allow for treats whether it’s a dessert or a glass of wine - my nutritionist did not suggest something so strict no one in the world would ever stick to it. My meeting with her was worth it’s weight in gold. See if there is someone you can talk to at your cancer center. Keep us posted. Love and hugs, DoriKate

I’ve been on Tamoxifen for almost a year and find any caffeine makes my hot flashes worse.
