Wondering If Anyone Has Taken The Drug Neratinib (Neralynx) Post Adjunct Chemo (TCHP/ Herceptin) For Stage 3 ER+ / HER2-positive(grade 3+ BC
It is my understanding that any cancer cells remaining after surgery may develop resistance to the initial HER2-targeted treatment. Neratinib was developed to overcome this resistance by targeting the HER2 signaling pathway in a different way than trastuzumab and other HER2-targeted agents.
My surgeon told me the herceptin doesn't cross the blood brain barrier but nerlynx would take care of that.
I did have herceptin and perjeta chemo first. Worst side effect with nerlynx is diarrhea. I took 6 pills at once as I was told too because that is how it is administered. I was hospitalized for dehydration. I tried it again in March and am doing well. I started on 1 pill for a week then titrated up to 6. I took budesonide for a month. It is a colon steroid. Immodium and lomotil as well. Now I only need 1 immodium. It matters how it is administered!!!
@A MyBCTeam Member - So you mind me asking if the MO gave a reason for going on the Nerlynx after taking the perjeta and herceptin? My Mo has talked to me about it but is not 100% sure since it was never tested with the perjecta. I have done alot of research and it seems like regardless of the 2% increased survival rate it does attach and lill the Her2 which is my main concern.
A friend is going to check to see if MD Anderson has any information re: using the Neralynx after taking both the herceptin and Perjeta and if the results were still 2% increased survival rate. Not sure if I should go on 😩
We’re you on herceptin and Perjeta before taking?
Can’t find any information about it being tested or used with both drugs. Just with the herceptin.
How are the side effects?
Newly Diagnosed With ER- /PR+ And Her2(3+) And Possible IBC. Enhertu With Immunotherapy Instead Of Regular TCHP?
Has Anyone Used Or Know About HERCEPTIN With HER2+ Breast Cancer? I Am Interested In Personal Experience. Thank You
