I am er/pr positive her2 neg. I just had my double mastectomy yesterday..I chose this option because being er/pr positive, and I also have cystic and fibrous breasts. I dont want to go through this again. 💗

My original diagnosis was stage I A and a lumpectomy was recommended. After the surgery, my diagnosis was changed to stage IIB with one node positive. In retrospect, I wonder if I should have chosen the mastectomy, as I am now stage IV.

I have had a lumpectomy, which they had to go back in since the margins were not clear. Find out tomorrow if they got it all. My surgeon really prefers lumpectomy for early stage cancer. I like to chose as minimally invasive as possible in my health care treatments. No real way to know what is best except for what is best for yourself.

I am doing well but of course it stays in the back of my mind. Dr recently told me that if it hasn’t reoccurred in 2 years I have 85 percent chance of it NOT recurring. I like those odds!
