Radiation is no joke
I had 28 treatments with bolus.
By number 20 I was almost ready to give up. But I finished.
No pain but the burns.
It starts really working from the inside out so for about 2-3 weeks after treatment completed was the worst for me. But tolerable. .
Keep the area clean and moist. Aquaphor,
Rejuvaskin Skin Recovery Cream were my new best friends both found on Amazon. When at home I was lucky enough to go shirtless. ( no youngsters)
Massage in the aquaphor often when you can tolerate the pressure. Gentle
Do arm raises right from the start and wall crawls. Gentle
I’m currently in rehab for lymphatic massages. They feel great! Plus I do exercises at the gym. Mine healed very nicely.
I’m telling you aquaphor is the trick for the radiation wound. Daily all day long. My area looks great 5 months post surgery and 2 months post radiation. PTL! ✝️

Modified radical nastectomy with radiation. Still numb and tight eso under my armpit.always feels like i have a underwire. It us some better. I do gently massages to keep all loosened

Yes, severe pain after my partial masectomy and it has gotten worse after radiation. It has been 2 weeks after radiation and still having issues. I'm also going to physical therapy. I feel like I am never going to get better. I too keep stretching as told by my physical therapist.

I had an open wound for 8-9 months. They say it was because I had had radiation 2X's. Maybe it was different for me because an Occupational Therapist actually worked for 3 months on my wound. Slowly it shrunk it size. Then I was moved to PT for my tightness and pain.

Hi Shalive, I am only 6 months out from my mastectomy and my situation is different - my wound won't close properly, so after 2 sepses, I have been on a wound vac, preventing me from doing any PT.
However, I can totally relate to the frustration of the persisting tightness and pain, I am hoping it gets better when I am healed and can do PT, but I definitely can understand you !!!
