To the extent that you are fatigued and not feeling well, the treatment can make you less than enthusiastic about intimacy, but if you can at least cuddle, you will feel better.

I honestly think that for us women, our brains are what stop our sex drive. Our bodies just follow what the brain says.

I also got c-diff Brenda. Boy that is not pretty. But before that it was the chemo, the mx, the AI's. And to top it all off, I have vaginismus (google it, not fun). I had it before BC and was on progesterone cream and once I had BC, had to stop.

So we have to rebuild. Our bodies and our minds. We have to find how to feel beautiful again, how to feel energetic, how to NOT feel nauseous, how to be intimate again when that young girl he married is gone. Oh I know, wonderful husbands etc... but our minds don't let those compliments and loving thoughts in. Our self-esteem locks the door to that.

It takes work. As hard as we worked to live through this, we have to work to bring back some of that young girl he married. If even for a moment, a moment well spent.

*love and hugs*

I did not have radiation, but the hormone blockers definitely took my sex drive.

I'm so sorry for all you are going through. It must be so hard. We are here if you need to talk or just vent.

Great question, Brenda. I had Proton, with no side effects whatsoever, so I'm not a good one to answer a question about regular radiation, but a lot of women here probably are. I imagine some will be jumping in. ;-))
