I had one in July and another in November. Surgery 12/28

I am also concerned. What gives me hope are people like my sister in law (62 yrs). Over 20 years ago, she got a lumpectomy, radiation and took tamoxifen for 5 years. No recurrence so far and no long term radiation effects have surfaced to date. She said advances in bc treatment have come a long way.

Normal with my radiation oncologist is follow up at one month and discharge to family doctor’s care if all is well. I developed an infection and seroma about two weeks after completing radiation treatment, so the RO had me come back for an extra visit after my first post-treatment mammogram (about 5 months after finishing treatment). My PCP is doing a breast exam every 4 months, not sure for how long; then they will be every 6 months.

I had one at one month and he said he no longer needed to see me. I felt like he was throwing me out into the wilderness. I went to a Carxiologiat and Pulminologist on my own to check for radiation damage.

I did not have any followups after my radiation.
