Any experience a stroke or TIA( mini stroke) while on Tamoxifen? If so, what was the follow up?

Tamoxifen can cause blood clots...which can result in TIAs & mini-strokes. Talk to your oncologist. There are tradeoffs to everything. It can be SO frustrating to discover that there's no such thing as a "perfect" treatment with no consequences. One of the hardest life lessons cancer has taught me (and my breast cancer's relatively mild) is that there comes a time when you can't "fix" something without "breaking" something else, and you can't "fix" that without re-"breaking" the first thing.

@A MyBCTeam Member a couple of months ago I had to be admitted for symptoms resembling TIA. These things don’t show up on scans or blood work, so I have doctors guessing on what it might have been. Tamoxifen I think can cause them.

I have never had TIA or strokes with Tamoxifen and have been on it about 4 1/2 years. Hugs and hope you will be fine.

When my father was in the hospital May 2017 (before John's stroke) the doctors could only assume that dad had a TIA and like you say they don't show up on scans or blood work. One doctor was convinced and the next doctor wasn't. I am Triple Negative so I can't take anything. Hugs to you Sahar
