A PET scan detects metabolic activity, and cancer cells have higher metabolic activity. The PET scan can detect these areas. The MRI will show tumors and lesions, but may miss small areas of cancerous activity.

Sorry to hear that , they should be doing scans till your pass 2 years at lest .

We don't have PET scan machines here but I had a bone scan before my mastectomy Two years later I had another bone scan, Can only have them every 2 years.
