I had BMX without reconstruction and was back to my old self within a month. The whole experience actually invigorated me to be more physically active, get in shape and get off my butt. I found it very motivating.
My eventual lack of energy came from the insomnia due to Tamoxifen and my energy level returned once I quit that less than 18 months after starting it.
First of all Cancer does take a toll on your body. I was told even ough my mastectomy removed all of my cancer I am still at a high risk for reoccurence. I did BMX followed by chemo, radiation and then implant surgery. I was always tired and could not get back to my new normal or any type of normal. I finally realized it was my implants causing most of the problems. So I had them removed and most of the fatigue is gone and I am finally sleeping through the night. Cancer did cause many more arthritis and Fibeomyalgia flareups which also can fatigue me at some times.
I have good energy days and bad energy days. Mastectomy was 14 months ago. Are you taking Tamoxifen? It can cause fatigue as well.
Hi Ginger. I had a bilateral 3 years ago. I go through periods of fatigue. It's quite a journey to the new normal. Much love to you. Keep moving forward. Never forget how powerful you are.
I had a bi-lateral mastectomy in December of 2018. I am taking Arimidex, does anyone that is taking this have fatigue? I seem to be tired all the time. I only had radiation. Sex drive is gone also.
