I've been on Tamoxifen for 4 years now. The first year was the worst. Now it is just hot flashes and a very dry vagina. When my hormone levels finally show I am in menopause I will be switched to Arimadex or something similar until I complete 10 years of estrogen-blocking therapy. I am not looking forward to switching meds since I am now adjusted. If the first year on the new meds is like the first year on Tamoxifen I don't know what I will do.

I have been on tamoxifen for 2 years. I tolerate the side affects. Nothing too serious. Hot flashes are the worst. Started on Arimadex first. Nearly killed me. Please let you MO of any side affects that are too much to handle.

Hope this works for you. I’m on Letrozole for 5 Lots if side effects. My Oncologist might change me to another one but I think they all have side effects.

Hey ladies i have been on tamoxifen for a few weeks now. Discharge was almost immediate first few days! Its normal. I am also dealing with major brain fog which also didnt begin until i took the tamox (its been 2.5 yrs since chemo anyway). This is my last shot at hormone therapy, ive already tried AIs (arimidex).

I just switched from Letrozole to tamoxifen a week ago. So far no side effects. Couldn’t handle the bone pain from Letrozole! Hoping this is better.
