It’s pretty common with Taxol. I ended up losing most of my big toe nail with Taxol but ironically it didn’t hurt. My fingernails and toenails would lift up and crack really far down but because they were no longer attached to my skin it didn’t hurt. It was weird. Just know you will probably still have some issues with your nails even after Taxol stops. It takes a while for them to go back to normal. The toenail I lost actually happened after I was done. It’s been a little over a year that I ended my chemo and all my nails are normal again but I want to say it took about 6 months to get there.

Unfortunately Chemo does strange things to you body. Talk to your Onc team they will be able to help. Usually if you lose a nail it regrows just like hair. I have lost in my like at least 2 dozen nails and all grew back eventually. Gelatin helps in many occasions. But ask the professionals please.

Yes, it can be a side effect of Taxol. Please let your ONC know about this, so your dose can possibly be changed and ask if they have advice .

My oncologist suggested turmeric and all my swollen joints have resolved (I can't take NSAIDS because of ulcers.

I was told to use clear nail strengthening polish on my fingers and toes during treatment. It really helped
