I see that some form of this question has been asked before, but has not been answered. I had my first chemo treatment and @Neulasta injection a week and a half ago. Second one is in three days. Although I had no noticeable side effects from @Neulasta this past time, I would like to stop taking it. I am normally a very healthy person, never get sick, can't even remember taking a day off work for sickness over the past five years. So my normal immune system is excellent.

I had the initial neulasta onboard after my 1st treatment for a mere $16k!! Next time my WBC were actually in the high range so insurance wouldn't approve it! I've been fine only one more chemo to go!!

I switched from Neulasta to Neupogen and i did not experience the bone pain and flu-like symptoms like I did with Neulasta. The trade off with the Neupogen is that you have to self administer the shot everyday for 7-10 days. You could also ask about the Neulasta Patch or it might be a pump (i cant remember). The patch form of Neulasta releases the drug slower so the side effects may not be as bad however some insurance companies may not cover the patch. But Its worth checking into. Good Luck. Treatment really does go by fast.
My how things change... So I was in the hospital twice this week for infection, with them removing my infected port yesterday. Ugh. Apparently I do need Nuelasta.
I had to go back and getting the neulasta shot 24 hours after infusion. But I'm lucky, all my doctors are a 8 minute drive away.
