She's young and hasn't had radiation, so I think she'll be happy with the result.

I had bilateral mastectomy with direct to implants (gel high profile) and am happy with them. They're definitely not the same as my old boobs but will do. If I'm not mistaken prophylactic mastectomy removes slightly less breast tissue than one done on an affected breast. That, along with the fact that they won't be radiated should mean she'll have a reasonably natural, soft result.

You might want to suggest she look up the actress, Anjolina Jolie and her story with having prophylactic mastectomy with implant recon after finding out she was gene-positive.

I have silicone implants and they are great!!! Mine are round but I hear that there is also a teardrop implant that may look more natural. The expanders are painful but it gets better, do some small stretches after about a month. She should have a successful experience. An electric/lift chair is helpful in the first week and a half because she probably will not be able to sleep in her bed or push/pull levers or buttons on a recliner.

Use grape seed cream for the scars, they fade well that way. They are harder and mostly numb. I'm not very happy with mine and have no real attatchment to them.
