Just had a consultation with a surgeon, but earliest date available is June 27. That seems like a long time to wait! Anyone have thoughts on this? They are putting me at a clinical stage 1 from what they know now...I have Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. Grade 2
I felt the same way. Get this cancer out of me ASAP. But ended up waiting a few months. (The best surgeon had no dates and went on vacation). I hated that waiting game. But did end up with same size tumor out at lumpectomy as was on my ultrasound in the beginning. I later went back in for double mastectomy a few months later.
I was diagnoised n October 20 had surgery Dec. 2. I had my surgery scheduled 3 weeks after first diagnoised then my surgeon blew out his knee and the group had to reschedule and juggle all my surgeons surgeries into their schedule. I would try to get it sooner. It will help u mentally from all the unknown.
I am stage 111a er+ & it was 2 months from biopsy to surgery. You need time to weigh your options for surgery, get a second option if needed & prepare.
ILC Stage 1A, ER+ PR+ HER2- BMx had to schedule both surgeons (breast & plastic). The initial diagnostic ultrasound was Feb 3 (2016), then all the biosies and MRI etc. surgery was April 7th. So, from the "we see something complicated in your ultrasound" til surgery was 2 mos.
I am HER 2 negative.
