Who Has Been Be Able To Work During Herceptin Treatment?
During my treatment with Docetaxel, carboplatin and trastuzumab I´m unable to go to my job. I would like to know if when I finish with docetaxel and carboplatin, and only continue with Herceptin, will be able to work?
I worked thru Chemo Tx, TCH+P , Taxotere , Carboplatin , Herceptin plus Perjeta. Infused on a Thursday, worked Friday, would be sick Sat/Sun, off of work MTW, then lite work days on Th/Fr. My employer of coarse was amazing in working with me. After six rounds of chemo, (sept2015-Jan 2016) the Herceptin continued for a complete year of treatment, last one being September 2016! If your employer will work with you , I think keeping busy was the best for me and reason why I did so well, minimal down time , no time to feel sorry for yourself.
When I received Herceptin only, I had no harsh side effects. I was able to work!
I went straight to work after my weekly rounds of Taxol and Herceptin. When I got to Herceptin only, definitely no issues going to work. My oncologist was right in that I wouldn't have side effects with Gerceotin. Hope you have an easy time too.
I was able to work through all chemo and radiation treatments. I'm not saying it was a piece of cake, but I made it.
I didn't have the same treatments as you, but I also worked while getting chemo and radiation. And most likely it helped my body to handle everything better. But I did rest alot.
