What would you have done differently. Having all the information you have now, what would you go back and change about your treatment choices? Would you do it all the same of would you have made different choices? For me, I wouldn't have had chemo. I would have still had the bmx, but would have taken my chances without chemo. It has changed me so greatly and negatively affected me so much that I wish I could take it back. How about you all, what would you change??

I heart you @A MyBCTeam Member, you said it very well. I didn't give much thought, honestly, to the entire thing. I have cancer, ok, lets cut them off and take chemo. Everything will be back to "normal" in no time, just a bump in the road. I had no idea the changes that would happen. No one told me and if they had, I probably would have thought that I would magically dodge all the bad stuff. The devastating physical effects that don't seem to end, the emotional part of it is just hitting me, I think. I am just now starting to realize that this is my new normal and trying to accept it. It's a bitter pill to swallow. And you are correct, I don't have any support that understands, and I need to address that. I have lots of people around me that love me and are positive, but no one gets it. Not like you guys. In fact, I'll look into therapy right now, I think I may need it. It may help me get to where some of you all are, and I'd like that. :)

As they say, @A MyBCTeam Member, "a (wo)man's reach should extend beyond their grasp"....put on the lipstick, the smile will come. Go get 'em, sister soldier.
And, thanks for the compliment.

If I had it to do over, I would not have done the chemotherapy. I too have had extreme ramifications and I am 2 years out. I'm not sure if it is chemo brain or menopause that is mostly to blame. I was diagnosed at 42, single and successful. My life has completely changed. I ended up resigning from my job that I loved. I could no longer keep up. I was in marketing and PR and lost my creative and multitasking abilities. I now feel like a 15 year old with severe ADD. Ha! I am seriously considering taking hormones. I am single, so I am all I have. Hopefully in time things will either be restored or I will find peace in all this. I know that money doesn't buy happiness, but it does pay the bills. With all that said, I truly believe with every fiber in my body, that all things work together for good and something good will eventually come from all this. Keep the faith even when hope is fleeting.

I've been thinking about this lately, and I've decided that I would do it again. The whole thing sucked, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but I'd do it again, given the stats. . . .
