Take heart! I had my expanders taken out, and my permanent one put in and the pain was gone within a week or so. It was a challenge for my surgeon since I had a very large scar vertically across my new boob from my surgery as a baby . I am just careful lifting on that side, since since muscles were used in the reconstruction.

I still have mine in and just found out I have to wait 6 months until after chemo is over before they do the Exhange, I want the pain to go away.

I exchanged after. Seems there was 6 weeks maybe between chemo and rads. Then 4 months between rads and exchange. Total time between expanders ( at BMX) to exchange was 11 months.

I had this done 4 years ago, but it too me a couple of weeks to start to feel better. Do what the doctor tells you.....I pray you have a speedy recovery. God Bless you my Warrior sister. 🙏😇🙏😍🌹🌷

My Plastic Surgeon wants to do my exchange after chemo but before Radiation. How long can I push bsck Radiation? Has anyone had the exchange after radiation?
