I had to becuz of terrible depression.

Oh, I just quit because I decided it was like taking rat poison. I'd rather spend the next 5 years happy and healthy than trade for a 10% less chance of recurrence 10 years from now.
Telling my onco soon. I was supposed to see him this week, but he's "out of town" Probably a trip paid for by big pharma. Cancer is not a disease. It's an Industry.

I am also on Femara for my estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer. I have plenty of respect for those that can do what you're doing dchatti, but its also scary! I have been reading a blog by Chrisbeatcancer and he took the holistic approach, and is now cancer free. There's lots of good holistic meal plans and other interesting topics to learn concerning going "drug free". Good luck and hang in there!!

Dchatti do you mean stop the blocker becuz you have taken it the 5 or 10 yrs u were suppose to or stop becuz of side affects. And any depressants do not make blocker side affects worse. They help me a lot with the depression n anxiety. That has been my experience

Yeah, I'm going through that rat race. The last time I saw my oncologist, I had a meltdown in his office because I was so depressed THAT DAY. He told me I should see my primary care physician and ask her to put me on an anti-depressant, on top of blood pressure medication, anti-anxiety medication, both of which I was on before BC and now Femara (estrogen blocker) and Fossamaz/Alendronate for bone density.

I wasn't going to talk to her about it but had to see her anyway, so I mentioned it. She told me she was refusing to put me on an anti-depressant because I was not depressed. Told me the side effects fromt he anti-depressant would just worsen some of the symptoms I was having from the estrogen blocker.

So, my question now is, what happens after you stop taking the estrogen blocker? Do you still have to see an oncologist? I am in the process of moving to another state and not sure what to do about the oncology thing.
