I had my first dose 6 weeks ago. I've been running a low grade fever every afternoon since then.

I have been on Prolia for two years and have had no side effects - but my bone density has improved over 8%.

I talked to my dentist today about Prolia and teeth. She said that she had not seen any studies in her dental journals regarding this nor had she ever heard of this new drug. She said she would research it and asked me if I could hold off till she found some information from other dental sources. She said any of her patients on the former osteoporosis meds were sent to the oral surgeon for any extractions, root canals or other major work that routinely would be handled by her. I would be the first patient in the practice on Prolia and they would for now followed the same precautions as with the former meds until studies prove otherwise . It is a large practice and in a major city. Anyone else talk to their dentist? Next stop my primary care doc. Why can't I just be one of those people who does what the dr says? Am I over thinking this? Years ago I said no to hormone replacement therapy and so glad I did! Why does it have to be so complicated ?

Jan, thank you for sharing. My osteoporosis was not bad bad , but just enough to warrant the Prolia suggestion. I am not going to rush into this until I am convinced that it is the only option or throw caution to the wind and take my chances! I hate putting unknown things in my body!
