Hi, I stopped getting my period 4 weeks into chemo. My hot flashes were pretty bad during my AC treatments. I am halfway through my Abraxane and Carbo..6 more to go. I read everywhere that early menopause is a side effect of chemo, but is this temporary or permanent? If temporary, when would I start getting my period again?

I was 38 when I got T&C. I haven't had my cycle since May 2015, during my 2nd treatment. I'm now 39 & have been without a cycle for 9months. I'm not complaining. I'm not having children. I just don't lime the not knowing part😐

Thanks @A MyBCTeam Member. I'm 34 soon so I guess it may return. Haven't asked my Dr yet...I should do that! :)

It depends largely on age at tx. I've heard that if one is within a handful of years of onset, it's more likely to not return.
I was 45 during tx and, 18months out, mine has not returned. Dripping hot flashes and other rotten symptoms lasted about a year.
Interestingly, hormone tests performed recently indicate that I am still perimenopause...kind of fascinating that one can hormonally be something yet clinically appear not to be. Crazy.
