I have been experiencing stinging pain occasionally near my healing scars from my reconstruction. Also a stinging pain in my back near my armpits. Has anyone had this happen? I have heard that implants for some women will always be a little uncomfortable.
If the stinging pain feels sort of like an electrical shock it's your nerves reconnecting, so it's actually a good thing. I was originally told this happens only for the first year, but my plastic surgeon recently told me that your nerves can keep reconnecting and there's not a limit to how long you can regain additional feeling. The implants are very tight, message with vitamin e oil helps a lot. My surgeon recommended up to 5 minutes twice a day. I can definitely tell the difference on days I don't take the time.
Tammy my implants stay cold too ugggg
I have not experienced any stinging. My complaint is my implants are always cold. Also, I always know they are there, very tight and unforgiving. I can now see why some choose no reconstruction. Ask your Doc about the stinging to be sure something else isn't happening like infection. Good luck.
Thanks. That’s a good way to describe it. My doc said the same.
To me it feels like electric shocks. My surgeon told me its my nerves healing.
