Im having one tomorrow...WOuld like to know what to expect tomorrow and the days to follow
I had my infusion a little over two weeks ago. Feeling much less fatigued and not as tired. They say it can take up to a month to feel the true effects of the infusion. But I can see the gradual improvement
I had iron infusion a long time before cancer appeared. Heavy periods was the cause of my hemaglobin to be 4 instead of 14. The iron infusion was an incredible help. I walked out of the infusion clinic feeling like I was 10 years younger. You will definitely feel better from it.
I have a friend who is getting iron infusions due to internal bleeding they can not locate. He's weak all the time. The iron helps but I believe his body isn't processing the iron. He did have prostrate cancer with radiation, and his numbers are now good. But, not the iron. Strange ?!?! If anyone learns more, please share.
I had an iron infusion after my third chemo treatment. I didn't feel any different. I didn't have any side effects from it.
I had the infusions the second week of June. I was able to travel to Europe the next week and tour like my family does. Because I was bleeding internally slowly, my levels stayed safe until January. We used oral iron after the infusions jolted my levels up. I had two sessions five days apart.
The positive effects were more energy, being able to stay awake for a whole movie, sleeping better at night. When I was so worn out, I craved carbs and sugar - my body was trying to keep up, but couldn't. My husband said he could see the difference in my eyes! I guess they would focus again!
If ever suggested again, I would do it!
(Internally bleeding problem was pinpointed and resolved. Anemia problem solved. )
