After radiation,my silicone implant is causing me problems. Has anyone had an implant taken out and replaced?

my doctor said that due to the radiation, the breast will encapsulate and would probably move. This is called scapular contraction. is this happening to you?

Great question. I had radiation post mastectomy also...so I'm starting to deal with tightened skin from the rads. I massage all of the time and it's getting better. How long ago did you finish radiation? And when was your mastectomy w/ implants?

Hey HMG just wanted to give you the update. I had surgery on Thursday and everything went great. No complications and I'm recovering very well. My radiated skin wasn't an issue at all and it's so great to not have that softball feeling breast from the capsular contracture. Skin looks and feels normal and implants do to.

My chest area bruised and burned and is definitely tighter than the other side. So I guess yes damaged, but not too heavily I don't think. Guess we will see how bad it is when the PS goes in there to replace it.
