I am craving chocolate almost daily. I have been treating myself to one piece of See's every day with a lot of guilt. I've heard that we are not suppose to have sugar during treatments. Is this true?
My oncologist couldn't have cared less what I ate while I was on chemo as long as I was eating and keeping up my strength.... I deprived myself of nothing and the chemo wiped out all 9cm of tumor mass... POOF! Gone... seems it worked just fine in spite of my crummy diet. :-)
Eat your chocolate, honey. It's okay.
I have heard that as well. But when I have chemo they have cookies and sodas available (as well as non sugar snacks and water) so if its not allowed why do they have it?
Hope it's not true. Sodas, cookies, and candy with my son bring me happiness.
My surgeon said to stay away from sugar. My oncologist said is not so much the sugar it's gaining weight that is bad because fat produces estrogen.
How do you limit yourself to one piece of sees candy each day? I have to keep myself from eating the while box at one sitting!!
Thx JenBorst. I have switched to a less expensive addiction, Dove deep chocolate squares. I will be trying Lindts dark chocolate as suggested. My husband likes to keep See's handy for me but I told him Dove works well for my cravings. Have a great week my fellow pink warriors.
