NONE - I'm two years out from my bilateral mastectomy without reconstruction and I would decide the same way again. Loving my new flat self!

I had my double mastectomy after I didn't have clear margins with my lumpectomy I knew I would always worry about cancer on the other side. I did reconstruction at the same time. Did not need any more treatments. I'm very happy with my choices!

I had a single mastectomy on July 1st and now wishing I had a double. I can go back on have the other done but it is another surgery. My cancer treatment seems endless and all I want is to be done and have all this behind me. So yes - a bit of regret but I made the best decision at the time. It is so hard when you get conflicting opinions on everything. There never seems to be one answer.

I had a single mx as well. All of my docs were a team and had to agree on everything. I elected to have the second breast removed about a year later. They said that radiation would change the shape of the affected breast so I had to wait on the second one. Anyhow, it does get better. I promise. Before you know it you'll be a brand new woman.

Its never too late to change your initial decision. You can consult with the surgeon and work on getting the surgery you want right now. There is Federal mandate the both providers and insurance companies need to follow.
