I'm getting a bilateral mastectomy then tissue expanders . I want my natural size big C ..... Can these fake boobs look realistic ? I m reading these expanders are a pain in the ass but I prefer to have breast . I'm worried about pain but my plastic surgery said its the way it's done and it should not be painful . Anyone have a good experience and happy with there implants ? My surgeon is going to use saline implants .
I had a right mastectomy with immediate tissue expander recon in February and my exchange/implant on natural side for symmetry in May. The tissue expander was uncomfortable bc it feels like a rock sitting on your chest, but it wasn't painful. I didn't have pain with the fills either - just tightness. I didn't need any meds. My PS started with 60 cc fills, which he said was conservative, but he didn't want to rush it or put me in pain. Silicone implant is much, much more comfortable than the tissue expander!
My plastic surgeon did the research on using Botox to paralyze the chest pain which reduces the pain from bilateral mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. If you are interested in your plastic surgeon to use this for your surgery he can call Allen Gabriel, MD at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators).
They actually do look real. i was able to wear all if my bras during the process. I did add padding at the beginning and no one was able to tell.
I decided that I had enough surgery and am not going to have reconstruction and two years later, I am still happy with my decision. Think it over carefully
I had expanders placed at the same time as my BMX. I did not have any pain or problems with the fills. None at all. Took nothing. Was definitely glad to have those things replaced with the implants through. Lol.
