Thanks, everyone, for your helpful responses. Hollygrace, I admire you for going without prostheses. I expect that I will do that as well, in time, because I don't like to wear a bra, but as you indicate, it could take awhile to get comfortable--even though I'm "flat-chested" in the usual sense of the term. I like the idea of peasant blouses, Sally, (Saldar92), what a great thought! I'll probably look into the foam ones, kimmie_d, thanks. Someone offline recently told me about knitted knockers and their website provides some good information about their breatheability and lightness. And Jaylene67, I'm most intrigued by your suggestion about the micro bead filled ones. I'll be sure to check out the Been-a-Boobs! Thanks, all!
I have not gotten any yet, but have looked. I know they also offer a foam one. It is supposed to be lightweight and cooler for the summer months.Have you tried this kind? I am about 8 weeks out of double mx and am starting to get a little self conscious. I have a fitting scheduled next week for bra and possible prosthesis.
I had a double mastectomy and haven't had m reconstruction yet (almost 2 yrs now!) I don't wear a bra either. I try to wear pheasant type blouses. I can't wear anything even a little snug. I had to have my expanders taken out because of infections so I have loose skin hanging on both sides near my armpits (not a pretty sight!!) I also love going without a bra. When I do have the reconstruction done I've decided to not get any nipples so that maybe I can stay braless.
As to the question lparkfu asked about things to wear instead of pads & breast prostheses. I really don't know but maybe a google search would turn up something. Good luck with your search anyway.

It is taking awhile but Nothing at all! I feel so good with no bra but it does take time to feel comfortable amongst people in public. I know there are flat people out there and now I am one of them. Looking for new shirts to wear that help me feel feminine. But, if you fine something that looks and feels good, let me know! Hugs
