Starting taxol this Friday (4 rounds total, every 2 weeks)

I have heard some tips but hoping to get them all in one place so it will be easy for me to find.

Please comment with tips on what helped you during this chemo.

Thanks! :)

@SusanStyle- Have you ever heard of the Trim Healthy Mama diet? I have a friend who lost 60lbs on it... I have been struggling even pre diagnosis with weight... I started it right before and was able to eat really good meals and lost about 8lbs... kept it off through the holidays and was diagnosis in Jan with BC... so I am now back on the plan... found some great support and recipes from the facebook groups and I am losing very slowly but I feel better and healthier.

I had 4 Taxol rounds bi weekly...(this past Thurs was my last!) body aches and pain mostly kicked in 2 days later and that Nuelasta shot made it worse, however I found that giving my body a good day of rest on my "bad day" and then forcing myself to get up out of bed and get around the house more. I didn't over do it, just didn't remain in bed the entire weekend. I found once I started moving around, the body pains lessoned. I found myself able to do a little cardio on my elliptical and some swimming. I am not at a fast pace or anything but forcing myself to get through a half hour I felt like I ran a 5k marathon. I am trying to keep it up daily now that I am done. I have 50 lbs to lose so I need the exercise and I am feeling better ever day.

I was against the steroids from the beginning... they gave me half doses during chemo and I did not take the steroid pills they usually prescribe right after chemo... I did the first 2 rounds and did without the remaining 6 rounds. I did not lose any weight during chemo (which I would have gladly welcomed!) but I didn't gain too much either... maybe 5 lbs that fluctuated. I went into menopause back in 2007 and that when I started gaining... here I am 8 years later and 60lbs heavier. I wish I knew about this diet way back then... probably wouldn't have gained so much. Let me know if you have any questions.. I will be happy to help anyway I can you can email me at [[email: [[email: (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators)

I haven't heard of that, but I will look it up now, thank you!
I was put on very high doses of steroids during chemo to keep up appetite and I would lose 13-17 lbs during, then gain it right back in the next week, which is what our goal was. Now I am thrust into post menopause with chemo, and honestly I have no self control with food now, even buying pop regularly, which I have never done! I have to stop this!
