My BRCA came out negative but come to find that I have a different gene mutation that causes breast cancer. The ATM mutation was passed down from my Grandmother on my Father's side.

My Grandmother had breast cancer and ovarian cancer and my father had bladder cancer twice. i could not find any other information about my Grandmother's family because she and her twin brother were place in an orphanage. They finally accepted to administer the test due to my family history of cancer.The Moffett Center will now give my children, my brother and grandchildren the test for $200. They have a 50% chance of inheriting the mutation that was passed down to me. My insurance paid 4 grand for my testing. You do not need to be a certain age to get this blood work but you must show a history of cancer in order for my oncologist to think testing was necessary. Good luck!

I came up positive with the ATM mmutation that showed high risk of breast cancer and moderate for pancreatic cancer and other cancers from this mutation.
