I don't have my periods on tamaxifen anymore. I've been on it for one year now.

I am 49, been on tamoxifen for 1.5 years and still have regular periods. It is my understanding that tamoxifen does not stop your periods. I'm going to check in again on this in July at my oncolgist check up.

Could you be pre-menopausal? I was 50 (2013) @ diagnosis and had regular periods on Tamoxifen until they stopped in August 2014, then had one more period in January (total shock) and have not had one since. My oncologist figures I'm done for good and wants to switch me to AIs after a period-free year, which would then be considered true post menopause.

Mine didn't stop while on tamoxifen, even though they were pretty sure it would. I ended up receiving luprin (sp?) shots to stop the periods. Was on those for about 5 years. Hope that helps.

I also was 40 and never had another one after the first pill. Soooo glad of at least one good thing! :-)
