I just finished reconstruction this year and will be 55. I like the look of clothes fitting normally, and they look good. They are the tear drop shaped implants. They look very natural, but I did not have radiation which I head can make it a little harder t work with radiated breast tissue. It is all what you want.
I was 50 when I was diagnosed and didn't think it was worth it. I love being flat and my husband has supported my decision from the time of diagnosis.
I am very active, play golf, swim, bike, walk at least 2 miles daily, and substitute teach at my son's charter high school. Quite frankly, no one notices my flatness. I don't wear (or own) foobs, and I don't make any effort to conceal my flat chest with ruffles, scarves or layers. I don't think being flat is unnatural nor do I feel less feminine or not complete without boobs.
Not having to tote around my firm and perky size D boobs or a consolation pair has made life so much easier for me.
My recovery after my BMX was quick - about 2 weeks to return to regular activities. I also wear a lot sexier clothes since I no longer have to worry about bulges in front, gaping buttons or showing ugly bra straps.

I was also 48 when I had my bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. I'm 52 now don't regret my decision.
I made the decision to have a BMX and implant reconstruction at age 67. It was based on my lifestyle. I take a lot of yoga and water aerobics classes and this just makes it all easier. 60 is still young!
I think so, I am 49. Its a personal choice. I work full time and wanted to look natural at the office. I admit I did not like the idea of putting implants in, but the desire to look natural over ruled that. I am very happy with it. The surgery was easy! Don't let that stop you.
