I have to switch to Femara this week from Tamoxifen because I am post menopausal. I currently usd Lexapro, feel like it is not working. Anyone else on Femara and take meds for depression/anxiety?

I was taking Effexor along with Tamoxifen and I stopped cold turkey with the Effexor. I had no problems whatsoever. Remember that not everyone reacts the same to medications.

Yes, weight gain, hot flashes (but could be from being post menopausal), a little joint pain.

I'm not saying that I did not have some depression and maybe let's be honest a lot of anxiety. However, I truly believe that attitude is everything and I was too afraid to get addicted to any type of medication so I chose not to do anything at all. I am very fortunate that I have a great support system of friends and family and my poor boyfriend who listens to me bitch and complain on a daily basis. I am surprised he did not go to the doctor for some medication just for putting up with me. Good night to you and God bless

I was on the effexor and my gynocologist said it increases chances for reoccurence of cancer and took me off it immediately...it was horrific getting off of it and then my breast cancer did come back after 10 years and I had to have a double mastectomy don't know if that's what caused it or not You may want to research further with your oncologist/gynocologist
