I was always too afraid to eat anything before treatment so I did not. they will give you crackers and juice while you're there if you need something. I did not have much of an appetite for one or two days afterwords and your taste might change a little. Do yourself a favor and use sites like this one and do not search on the Internet. It is amazing how many crazy things you can find it's better to get information from people who've actually experienced it. I truly believe attitude is everything try to do your Best Buy staying positive and staying around positive people who are good for you good luck to you and God bless

I did AC treatment and I would recommend you eat if you can prior to treatment. As for getting sick, it's so different for everyone.. The first 2 treatments I just had a decrease in appetite and 24/7 nausea but not vomiting( had my treatments every 2weeks, what's known as dose dense) , other then that I felt great! Once I did my 3rd treatment , that hit me like a ton of bricks... By about the 3rd day after treatment I became extremely weak, copper taste in my mouth, couldn't sleep but was tired, the steroids kept me awake.Had to force myself to eat and drink. Started losing lots of weight. Became depressed because of the side effects. Seems no matter what I did nausea got bad and no appetite at all and daily mild headaches. I will be honest I felt as bad as I have ever felt in my life. By 4th treatment the oncologist decreased my AC by 25% and I was able to slowly bounce back. The problem is chemo has a cummalitive effect. But I did it, survived and have no lasting side effects from it.
Some people do manage to get thru this with less drastic side effects , I did for a month .
Hydration is huge and keeping calories in your system. I had to start drinking the ensures protein plus 3-4 a day, it helped with my recovery .

My side effects didn't hit until 2-3 days after infusion so I could eat before during or after. Didn't have much of an appetite though...
