I have only had ultrasound and biopsy, but Im afraid they are staging it pre maturely. How accurate can they stage it by ultrasound?
It is not staged until pathology is done after removal. However, they can tell the grade after a biopsy.
Only the actual testing of the mass after removal can accurately stage it.
I was originally diagnosed with stage 1, but after surgery moved to stage 2A.
Well the ultrasound takes a look at the location of the lump or mass, then the biopsy takes a piece to do further testing of where you are...when I had it the first time at the diagnostic radiology office, they only gave some info..but when I saw the breast surgeon, I the test again with their radiology department and got the answer I needed to hear
@A MyBCTeam Member - the decision to have a BMX was a "no-brainer" for me. I was not emotionally attached to my from and perky Ds (read my story) and my hubby was fully in agreement that they could go and not be replaced. It was my gut decision and it's now been over 18 months and I have absolutely no regrets.
