It's illegal. Insurance has to cover it. In the future hopefully it will be the law that freezing your eggs are covered as well since it's a medical necessity if you ever want to have kids.

Yes but I have an amazing micro plastic surgeon that is passionate to help people like us and said "you will never see a bill from us" I called on several PS that told me same (one side elected). Luckily in NJ insurance must pay for reconstruction for mastectomy due to cancer. I hit the foobie lottery with my PS. My advice is be your own advocate and research PS in your area that will negotiate with your insurance and help you! Sorry you have to deal with this too. I was an emotional mess at first but my angel came along.

Yes I had my good side lifted several times to achieve symmetry with implants included. Insurance covered all of my surgeries.

My daughter has Kaiser in Downey and is considering double mastectomy altho cancer only in one breast. They will cover everything if she wants reconstruction. She is just starting chemo treatment prior to surgery.
