My last Herceptin treatment was January 2014 and I still have my port. I am hesitant to have it removed because of limitations accessing veins and the "comfort" of having it there. My doctors keep telling me I can keep it until I feel comfortable having it removed.

I had my port taken out 1 month after my last dose of herceptin. I had 2 lymph nodes removed from one arm and 1 from the other side and everything has been fine thank the lord just see what your doctor thinks. Congrats on finishing your treatments.. God Bless

My last Herceptin is May 4, 2015 and my surgeon said I can take it out any time after that. I'm going to get mine out ASAP

depends on your oncologist. my oncologist wanted me to keep port in a year after chemo but I had my breast surgeon take it out after a few months
