I was recently diagnosed in November of 22...had 6 rounds of KTC in hopes of shrinking tumor (Keytruda taxotere and carboplatin) they stopped on the 5th and moved surgery up because tumor was getting bigger...metaplastic is very rare...only 2% of triple negative...had bilateral masectomy even though only 1 breast involved...MBC was hi grade(3) and very aggressive...have been told to not get reconstuction for a year to prevent masking of reoccurence. I am currently doing radiation and will continue keytruda for 7 more months... then bloodwork and possible maintenance chemo called Xyloda...unfortunately since metaplastic is rare...not a lot of information available...protocol studies are being done now to find new treatments...I hope this helps. One if my oldest and dearest friend was given a metaplastic BC diagnosis just last week as well. She has been to Mayo for numerous tests since her disgnosis-still waiting for results.
