During radiation treatments, on the way home a few time I felt electric shock feelings at the site of my incision which was where my nipple was. They said it was nerve regeneration. I know that itchy feeling you can't scratch. I have it on my back where I had my lat flap taken from. I have to scratch nearby where it's not numb to get relief!

The phantom pain is so real. It's been almost 3 years since my bilateral and i never got complete feeling back in my skin. But often times i think i feel something but if i touch it i really don't. Kind of weird. Or that itch you can never scratch oh that is the worst.

Yes, it's called phantom pain...anyone that has lost a (finger,toe, arm, leg and breast included) have the chance for the experience. I had it with my mastectomy in July 2014,it seems to diminish with time.

OMG, I also had my bilateral 2 weeks ago and am experiencing the same exact thing. I feel those nipples hurting but they are not there. Think its just our bodies trying to balance out.

I called it "ghost nipple". I believe our nerve endings make us feel like something is still there! I still have TE's in and I swear I think that hard plastic gets cold in 20 degree weather!
