I also still cough to this day (going for my one year clear after the double mastectomy Sept 2013) in a week. I lost my eyelashes & eyebrows 2X. Once with the A/C and then again after the Herceptin treatments. I lost half an eyebrow and my eyelashes are still not the same. Thank goodness for makeup!

I know i lost one eyebrow and now all lashes. Im not going to complain about them as i know they will grow back but this cough and itchy watery eyes are really annoying. I will speak to the oncology nurse when i go in for my next herceptin treatment.

The websites we generally refer to for answers don't usually agree with a measure of reality that can only be found by talking to those of us actually in the trenches.

I never had allergies in my life. When I started Herceptin (had weekly infusions for one year) my eyes started turning red, getting watery, itching, and the rims started to deform. I also lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes. This was the same time my cough started. My oncologist believes my continued cough may be due to the Arimidex.

I am one year from my last Herceptin infusion and every single one of these side effects are ongoing. My ophthalmologist and oncologist both confirm the damage to my eyes is permanent and treatment induced. I have to take oral antibiotics twice a day for the rest of my life because of the chemo induced damage to my eyes.

I have been reading some studies that say that researchers are now perusing cancer forums to find out the real side effects and experience of cancer survivors. Obviously they can't list their findings under the "clinical double blind" category, but they are listening to us. John Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic, and MD Anderson may not list our side effects but if we continue to speak out via these forums, our voice will be heard, our issue will be heard, and research will continue that will address our issues.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist against "big Pharma", but once a drug is in play, I don't believe as much time, energy and money is spent on clinical trials proving or disproving side effects. Another reason it is important for us to keep sharing our experiences.

Yes, I do have allergies. I wonder if the herceptin is aggravating them..
