Has anyone ever used vitamins from the Mane Choice for hair growth? I have heard great things regarding these vitamins.

Fish oil and calcium are good for some things, but your hair is made from keratin which is a type of protein. You should be eating at least 25% of your total daily calories from protein to help restore your hair(I'm taking a college nutrition course and going to nursing school). Protein will also help rebuild your body's cells that were also killed with the chemo.

As a hairstylist I've always recommended a good multivitamin with amino acids and biotin. Prenatal vitamins work great!

While I haven't been thru chemo, I do take fish oil, calcium chews, and a multivitamin daily. My hair grows twice as fast as before - 1/2 inch a month. Also added protein to my diet.

I was told by my Mom Kidney doctor that Biotin would help with her thinning hair due to dialysis. It did and it also made her nails grow. I also took it and it made my hair and nails grow quicker. I'm at my 4th chemo treatment and am bald but I am continuing to take the Biotin. Hopefully it will help jump start my hair and nail growth when the chemo is over.

@Jilly-I am doing three things to treat myself naturally (and I had guidance on these things from a Naturopath at Cancer Treatment Centers of America) 1) Eat whole organic foods 2) Exercise daily with a goal (Sprint Triathlon) 3) Taking medicinal mushrooms (rotating different types of medicinal mushrooms like Coriolus, Cordyceps, and Reishi-all from Mushroom Science). Since this treatment was tailored for me and the BC I had, I cannot recommend it to anyone. I do feel though that the integrative medicine practiced at Cancer Treatment Centers was more helpful and tolerant of my desire to treat naturally. Of course, I also had 3 major surgeries, chemo, and rads before I started this natural program. My QOL is good, although it took a while to get physically strong (2 years. I still have some chemo brain and of course osteoporosis (ugh!).
