I had regular periods up until diagnosis 11 years ago. After surgery 7/30/13 I had a period in August, and chemo started in September. No period since. However, I haven't had a single symptom. No hot flashes, no night sweats, no vaginal dryness. Occasional mood swing but I struggle with clinical depression anyway and that's being treated. I was menopausal before my diagnosis, but I can tell you I did not experience any hot flashes during peri menopause or after.

Strange as it might sound, my last period was on the day of my diagnosis. I was 46 at the time, now have all signs of menopause. Top it off, get hot flashes more intense with my HRT. Even more moody...just use precaution when (you know, having sex).

I stopped periods for 16 months with chemo. Period came back for 3 years. I turned fifty last year and skipped 6 months of periods. Then it came back for six months and now six months have gone by since my last. No symptoms. I saw my GYN last month and she said its likely peri-menopause and you're not really post menopausal until 12 consecutive months with no period. If period comes back at month 11? The clock starts over. I guess the only symptom for certain I've noticed during these 6 months is absolutely zero sex drive. It's completely gone.

@A MyBCTeam Member I've been in menopause since having my first chemo round. I was 42 at the time, now 47. I have hot flashes every now and then mostly at night. No mood swings or depression.
